Ingredient list
- 500 grms - potato, boiled and chopped into slices
- 1 medium - onions, finely chopped
- 1 large - tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 small piece - ginger, finely chopped
- ½ cup - cucumber, finely chopped
- 2 cups - .brown chick peas, soaked in water overnight
- 1 small bunch, coriander, freshly chopped
- ½ tsp. or to taste - red chilli powder, dry roasted
- 1 tsp. or as per taste - cumin powder, dry roasted
- 2 tsp - chat masala
- 1 tbsp or to taste - lime juice
- salt – to taste.
Preparation
- Boil potatoes, peel the skin off and slice them into small pieces of medium thickness.
- Soak handful of brown chick peas overnight, finely chop onions, tomatoes, ginger, cucumber & fresh coriander.
- Take a large bowl. Add potatoes, all the finely chopped vegetables, the soaked brown chick peas and mix well.
- Add chilli powder, cumin powder, chat masala, lime, salt and mix well.
- Serve cold with a hot cup of coffee or chai.
Notes
- You can add tamarind pulp or dried mango powder as a substitute of lime juice.
- You can also add lentil sprouts, peanuts, fresh coconut pieces & other salad vegetables to the aloo chat.
- Garnish with crushed crisps chips on top for a crunchy variation.
