Lauki (ghia) halwa

Ingredient list
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 can condensed milk.
- ½ cup milk powder
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp desi ghee
- 1 kg. grated lauki (without seeds)
- ¼ tsp elaichi powder
- For garnishing - cashew nut, cardamoms, almonds, raisins as needed.
Preparation
- In a heavy bottom pan, bring the grated lauki (bottle gourd) and milk to a boil.
- Reduce the flame and cook untill milk start getting thick.
- Keep stirring continuously to avoid burning. lauki should be tender and slightly changed in color.
- Add condense milk, stirring constantly, cook for 5 minutes, then add powder milk and almonds and pistachios and turn off the heat..
- Add the sugar and the ghee and cook further till the ghee leaves the side of the pan.
- Add the kishmish (raisin) and chirojee and mix well. Can be served hot and cold.
- Add elaichi powder & garnish with all above-mentioned dry fruits.
- Enjoy hot Lauki Ka Halwa.
