Ingredient list

  • 2 cup grated red carrots
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cup - milk
  • ¼ - cup raisins
  • ½ - cup
  • 100 gms mawa (khoya)
  • ½  cup -  cashew & almonds for Garnishing
  • ½  tsp cardamom powder

Preparation

  • Roast the cashew nuts and set aside for the garnish.
  • Heat the Ghee (clarified butter) in a non-stick pan on medium heat.
  • Add the grated carrots and stir-fry for about seven to eight minutes.
  • Carrots should be tender and slightly changed in color.
  • Add the milk and cook until almost dry. Add sugar and stir well till the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the raisins and cashew nuts. Keep stirring continuously, otherwise the mixture will stick to the bottom.
  • Stir until semi dry. Add mawa and mix well.
  • Cook until the Halwa leaves the sides of the pan and ghee separates from the Halwa.
  • Garnish with cashew nuts.
