Ingredient list

  • 2 cups besan (gram flour)
  • 4 cups ghee
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 10 almonds blanched and sliced
  • ½ tsp  powdered cardamom

Preparation

  • Boil ¾ cup of water add sugar and make syrup of one thread consistency. Set aside.
  • Heat ½ cup ghee (clarified butter), add besan and roast golden brown, keep on stirring all the time.
  • Add the syrup and keep on stirring continuously.
  • Heat the remaining ghee (clarified butter) and pour into besan mixture, gradually.
  • Keep on stirring. Cook for 10 - 15 minutes,
  • pour into a greased plate and garnish with almonds and cardamom powder.
  • Cut into diamond or square pieces before it gets stiff.
